“Beyond the One Night Count: Becoming a Voice for Change” on February 2, 2008

This workshop is specifically designed for people who volunteered to make the One Night Count happen, and who want to take the next steps. The dynamic and delightful Nancy Amidei (UW School of Social Work) will convince you that ANYONE and EVERYONE can and should speak up for affordable housing, and will show you how to have fun doing so. Participants will learn about the issues, and take action!

In this workshop you will:

• learn how to raise your voice with others to support the public policies which will end homelessness in the long run;
• get clear, concise information about the common legislative priorities agreed upon by homeless and affordable housing activists across Washington, and
• contact your state representatives to let them know what actions you ask them to take to help end the crisis of homelessness in our region
• find out how to stay informed (but not overwhelmed) about these issues
