Participate in a Population Committee
SKCCH's Population Committees also meet on a monthly basis:Single Adults Advocacy,Families with Children, and Youth and Young Adult. Each committee provides a venue for advocates, providers, and other committed individuals to share important information and resources, carry out projects, and mobilize around critical service, policy, or funding issues affecting these population groups. The committees also help educate and inform the Coalition as a whole about the particular experiences, needs, and concerns of these groups. Each Committee is lead by a volunteer chair or co-chairs elected by the committee members.

Single Adults Advocacy Committee
The Single Adults Advocacy Committee meets every 2nd Thursday from Noon-1:30pm at Plymouth's Simons Senior Apartments: 2119 3rd Ave.
The Single Adults Advocacy Committee works on the challenges that affect men and women experiencing homelessness. We have engaged in key advocacy efforts such as changing how local governments treat homeless people camped on public property; expanding available shelter and transportation options; increasing funding for human services and housing; and mobilizing support for the critical state-wide Disability Lifeline program (formerly known as GAU).

Families with Children Committee
Families with Children Committee meets every 4th Wednesday from 9:30-11:00am at the E. Cherry YWCA: 2820 E. Cherry St.
The Families with Children Committee brings together advocates and providers working with homeless children and families. We have led several efforts to raise community awareness about issues of family homelessness, including developing the Family Turn Away Survey, a project that helps measure unmet need for family emergency shelter in King County, and educating service providers and school personnel about homeless students’ educational rights under the federal McKinney-Vento Act.
