Mission statement and history
The
Seattle/King County Coalition for the Homeless (SKCCH) was formed in
1979 and is one of the oldest homeless coalitions in the country. We are a coalition
of organizations and individuals working together to provide adequate and appropriate
emergency responses, address the causes and break the cycle of homelessness.
Our current focus is threefold:
1. Guarantee the availability of safe shelter for all;
2. Increase the supply of affordable housing; and
3. Ensure all homeless people and those at risk receive relevant support
services.
