Make the One Night Count matter 365 nights and days a year!
Go "Beyond the One Night Count" by taking part in a Homelessness Advocacy 101 workshop.
The Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness is excited to present the next Homelessness Advocacy 101 workshop!
Every winter the Coalition builds on the energy of the over 900 volunteers who count from 2:00-5:00 a.m. during the annual One Night Count and offers the opportunity to learn how to advocate at the state level for more affordable housing, shelter, and stronger supportive services.
In just two hours, we take you through "Advocacy 101," a FUN training with the incomparable pro-democracy cheerleader Nancy Amidei. Together with other local experts and allies, we present the facts about 3-4 important proposals, along with simple actions and sample messages. You will leave informed and inspired with tools for engaging your classmates, fellow congregants, neighbors and others to speak up and make a difference.
Join us on during one of the three offered workshops:
- Wednesday, February 4 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seattle Pacific University Student Union Building - Collegium Room (315 West Bertona, Seattle, WA 98119)
- Saturday, February 7 from 10 a.m. to Noon at Plymouth Church (1217 6th Avenue, Seattle 98101)
